What are your top three book pet peeves\/hates?<\/strong><\/span>
\nNot knowing what a character looks like.<\/strong><\/em> I can\u2019t stand it when an author doesn\u2019t offer a physical description of her characters. How can I get into the story when I can\u2019t picture who\u2019s telling the story?<\/p>\n

Wishy-washy characters.<\/strong><\/em> Characters who can\u2019t make up their mind for no reason at all except to add unnecessary drama to the story.<\/p>\n

Falling back on stereotypes.<\/em><\/strong> When a character\u2019s behavior is explained because she\u2019s a certain type of person. Not all black people think alike; not all studs or femmes think alike, so characters that follow the same mold frustrate me.<\/p>\n

Describe your perfect reading spot.<\/strong><\/span>
\n*sigh* In my bed. But I also love the outdoors, as long it\u2019s not too hot.<\/p>\n

Tell us 3 book confessions.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. I need Skyy to make another book in the Choices series. I can\u2019t imagine Denise, Cooley and Carmen not having another story.<\/li>\n
  2. I wish I had met E. Lynn Harris. I\u2019ve heard from people who\u2019ve met him that he\u2019s a beautiful soul, and I only wish I could have had him sign my copy of Invisible Life and maybe chatted a bit.<\/li>\n
  3. Love stories are what I truly enjoy the most, but sometimes I wish our black lesbian authors would step out the box a bit. We\u2019re more than being in a relationship.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    When was the last time you cried at a book?<\/strong><\/span>
    \nI can\u2019t exactly recall the last time I cried at a book, maybe A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. That was a sad book.<\/p>\n

    How many books are on your bedside table?<\/strong><\/span>
    \nNone. I keep the book I\u2019m currently reading in the bed with me which would be: Niya 2 by Fabiola Joseph. I also have my Kindle and Nook.<\/p>\n

    What is your favorite snack whilst reading?<\/strong><\/span>
    \nChips, chocolate, water, ice (to crunch).<\/p>\n

    Show us your favorite bookshelf on your bookcase.<\/strong><\/span>
    \nThis one is my favorite because it has E. Lynn Harris, James Earl Hardy, and A.S. King (Ask the Passengers).<\/p>\n

    What is your biggest reading secret?<\/strong><\/span>
    \nI have well over 700 unread books. *gasp*<\/p>\n
